He was born June 13, 1926 in Maquon, Ill. to Paul D. and Trella J. Wells Chase. He married Rose J. Torio February 23, 1946 in Metuchen, N.J. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Gary (and Lindsey) Chase of Galesburg, Jeffrey (and Suzie) Chase of Aurora, Colo. and Kevin (and Annetta) Chase of Galesburg, six grandchildren, Lori Chase, Brian (and Emilie) Chase, Aaron (and Jenny) Chase, Zacory (and Tracie) Chase, Joshua (and Nikki) Chase and Aimee Chase, and four great-grandchildren, Cobi Chase, David Chase, Mia Chase and Samantha Chase. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Keith Chase and a sister Floy Bantz.
Robert was a yard foreman at Galesburg Builders Supply Company for 39 years and retired December of 1990. He was a WWII Navy veteran serving from 1944 to 1946. He received 2 stars in the Asiatic Pacific Area and two stars in the Philippine Liberation. He also received the WWII Victory Medal. On September 7, 2010 he went on the Honor Flight out of the Quad Cities. He was a member of the Ralph M. Noble American Legion, Post # 285. He was a member of the Alpha Masonic Lodge #155 A.F. & A.M. and the Shriners International. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Galesburg. Robert enjoyed dancing and woodworking.
Cremation will be accorded. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Robert’s nephew Rev. David Bantz will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg with military rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285. 92, of Galesburg, Ill. died at 8:13 pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

 She was born December 2, 1921 in Bagley, Wis. the daughter of Claude I. and Sadie Beer Quarterman. She married George R. Pico in Burlington, Iowa on September 17, 1940. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1994.

 She is survived by two sons, Kent (Sharon) Pico of Bushnell, Ill. and Craig Pico of Monmouth, Ill.; two daughters, Jeanine (Dale) Rickords of Knoxville, Ill. and Paula (Jim) Rich of Galesburg; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Clyde and a granddaughter, Krista.

 She worked at W.T. Grants for 3 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of the United Transportation Union Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

 Graveside services are scheduled for 10 am Monday, December 9, 2013 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. age 54 of Galesburg, Ill. died Thursday December 5, 2013 at 12:30 AM at Heartland Health Care Center.
She was born May 3, 1959 in Cameron, Mo. the daughter of Larry and Sharlene Herter Donaldson. She married Lanny Williams in Galesburg, Ill. in 1977 and later married Robert Stoneking in Galesburg, Ill. in 1985.
Vicky is survived by her mother Sharlene and John Brand of Galesburg, Ill., her father Larry Donaldson of Quincy, Ill., one son Montgomery Stoneking of Galesburg, Ill., one brother Vaughn and Terry Donaldson of Dallas, Tx., and one uncle Dale and Barbara Herter of Gibbon, Nb.
She graduated from Galesburg High School and Knox College. She was a school teacher at Little Satellite in Bushnell and was assistant manager at Pizza Hut.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday December 11, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel with Rev. Richard Shriber officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the family.

Motz, Shirley82, of Galesburg, Ill. died 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.
She was born July 17, 1931 in Galesburg to Percy and Elma Rickord Duvall. She married Edward Eugene Soper in1951. She later married Carl D. Motz on October 25, 1969 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death October 25, 2002.
Surviving is a daughter, Penny Lou Barnes of O’Fallon, Mo., three grandchildren, Christina Henry, Robert Barnes and Dennis Barnes and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.
Shirley worked for Maytag Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for nine years. She was a member of the Young Democrats. She enjoyed reading, ceramics and embroidering. She was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Norman Mendell will officiate. copeland, catherine 93, of Galesburg, Ill. died at 3:46 am Monday, December 9, 2013 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.

 She was born August 14, 1920 in Rio Twp. Knox Co. Ill. the daughter of Charles and Pearl Klinglesmith Bell. She married Earl R. Copeland in Clinton, Iowa on February 16, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1991.

 She is survived by two sons, Earl and (Carolyn) Copeland of Oneida, Ill. and James and (Diane) Copeland of Galesburg, Ill.; two daughters, Marsha and (John) Tock of Leonore, Ill and Nancy (Gerald) Underwood of Andover, Ill.; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and four sisters.

 Catherine worked as a cook for the Altona Grade School for 10 years. She volunteered at Cottage and St. Mary Hospital and also the Rescue Mission. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Faith Circle.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 am Thursday December 12, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Mary Runge will officiate. Visitation will be 10-11 am Thursday. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, the Galesburg Rescue Mission, or the American Cancer Society. Griffith_James_00165, of Galesburg, Ill. died at 6:45 PM Monday, December 9, 2013 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
He was born on June 8, 1948 in Galesburg to Robert D. and Marjorie Swanson Griffith. He married Constance “Coni” Pattison on June 20, 1970 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving is his mother Marjorie Griffith of Galesburg; two daughters, Heather and Kevin Holmes and Lydia Griffith, both of Galesburg; two brothers, R. David Griffith of Desert Palms, Calif. and Thomas J. Griffith of Galesburg; and a grandson, Brett James Holmes. Also surviving are nieces and nephews and one great nephew.
James served an apprenticeship and became a union carpenter working for 10 years. He then worked at Dick Blick for 32 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and Local #360 where he served as a warden. He was also a member of the Alpha Masonic Lodge #155. An avid outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting and collecting Indian artifacts. He raised homing pigeons and was a member of the Galesburg Pigeon Club. He was a collector of antique cars, trucks and motorcycles.
His three girls were the light of his life. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandson.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Pamela Marolla officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Chapel. Cremation will follow the services. Burial will be in Henderson Cemetery at a later date. Condreay, Chad38, of Cameron, Ill. went to his heavenly home at 6:15 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2013.Obit_US_Flag
In the last five years, I learned about the joy a simple flower blossom in the yard, a unique arrangement of the stars in the sky, the sound of the rumbling thunder before a storm and the wave in the waters meant to my husband. Chad is the most honorable, loving, creative artistic man I’ve known.
Chad was born September 13, 1975 in Galesburg the son of Walter Allen and Rebecca Lynne Morrison Condreay. He married Alicia Davis on August 25, 2012 in Coldbrook Christian Church. She survives.
Also surviving is his mother, Becky (and Dave) Dennis of Oquawka, Ill, his children, Gabe, Alexa, Adyson and Clayton; his grandparents, Phyllis and Otho Miller of Kirkwood, Ill, his brothers and sisters, Gary (and Kathy) Condreay, Sara (and Virgil) Borchelt, Ryan Condreay, Adam Condreay, Mark (and A’Dona) Condreay and Mike Condreay; his in laws, Greg and Mary Davis of Galesburg, Brad and Marcy Davis, Brett and Stephanie Simpson and Amy and Shane Simpson; numerous loving aunts, especially Aunt Diane and his Uncle Steve, they were his role models always, several adoring nieces and nephews and his best friends, Steve Harris, Patrick Jackson, Bill Martin, Dan Dorfer, Chuck Hoots and Kevin Myreck.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter.
Chad served in the United States Marine Corp. He was chosen to be 8th & I in Washington D.C to serve as President Clinton’s Marine. Chad received numerous medals and honors while serving in the Marines.
He worked for Cleary Building as branch manager in Galesburg and later promoted as Regional Manager within six months. He was very dedicated to work and family always passionate to succeed. He was a member of the Coldbrook Christian Church. Chad enjoyed writing, art, music, weight lifting, water sports and the outdoors.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Ray Hutson and Rev. Rick Warren will officiate. Lamphier, Thomas65, of Moline, formerly of Alexis, died at 11:22 am Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his home.
He was born March 22, 1948 in Fayette, Iowa the son of Robert A. and Lucy (Kuhen) Lamphier.
He is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (and Eve) Lamphier of Martinsburg, West Virginia and Trent T. (and Lesley) Lamphier of Moline, Illinois; a daughter, Carmen (and Tim) Rounds of Portage, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Post and Cindy Lamphier, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and a sister-in-law, Karen Lamphier of Fayette, Iowa. His parents, Robert and Lucy Lamphier, and his brother, Robert Lamphier, preceded him in death.
Tom worked as a supervisor at John Deere for 20 years and then as a supervisor at Maytag for 18 years. He retired in 2005. He was raised and educated in Fayette, graduating from high school there in 1966. He earned his associate’s degree from Upper Iowa University in 1987. He lived in Waterloo, Iowa for 22 years, the Quad Cities for four years, Wataga, IL for 12 years, and Alexis for four years. He was of the Catholic faith.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date. His remains will be buried in Lima Cemetery in Fayette. He was born May 26, 1948 in Galesburg the son of Cyrus and Mildred Brown Walter.
He is survived by two brothers, Lyman (Linda) Walter of Maquon, Ill. and Tom (Kay) Walter of Knoxville, Ill. and three sisters, Carolyn Crouch of Middle Grove, Ill., Dorothy (Martin) Jacobs of New London, Iowa and Nancy (Jerry) Bucher of Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He worked for Butler Manufacturing. He had also worked for the former CB & Q Railroad. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1966. He had attended Black Hawk College, Southern Illinois University and University of Illinois.

 72, of Peoria, Ill. died at 10:30 am Thursday, December 5, 2013 in Sharon Elms Nursing Home, Peoria, Ill.

She was born July 15, 1941 in Galesburg the daughter of Maurice Raymond and Beatrice Louise Hicks Sandborg. She married Lester T. Pritchard on September 15, 1984 in Champaign, Ill. They later divorced.

 She is survived by four brothers, Robert M. Sandborg of Moline, Ill., David L. Sandborg of Bend, Ore., George N. Sandborg of Lake Elsinore, Calif. and Paul (Rita) Sandborg of Galesburg, her sister-in-law Shirlee Sandborg of Galesburg and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, C. Richard Sandborg.

 She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1959 and had attended Browns Business College.  She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She volunteered for the Empty Tomb in Champaign, Ill.

 Graveside services are scheduled for 11 am Tuesday December 17, 2013 in East Linwood Cemetery. Rev. Kirk Kendall will officiate. She was born May 2, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pa. the daughter of Cornelius and Sarah Golden McGlynn.

 She is survived by two sisters, Grace Herold of Galesburg, Ill. and Margaret (Clifford) Jones of Landsdowne, Va. and several nieces and nephews.

 She was a professor of psychology at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia for 30 years, retiring in 2000. She graduated from Little Flower High School in Philadelphia in 1955. She received her B.S. in 1961, her Masters in 1966 and her Ph.D in 1976 from Villanova Temple University. She was of the Catholic faith. She spent two years in the Mary Knoll Convent. She later entered the Carmelite Order in Iowa.

 A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 11 am Saturday, December 14, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Rev. William Miller, Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio, and Rev. Deus-Dedit Byabato will officiate. Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am Saturday at the church. Cremation will be accorded. She was born August 24, 1947 in Brookfield, Mo. the daughter of Hubert and Helen (Brown) Wilson.
She is survived by her parents, Hubert and Helen Wilson of Galesburg; a sister, Dixie (and Frank) Pecsi of Galesburg; an aunt; an uncle; and cousins.
Nancy taught school for District 205 for 33 years at Farnham School and Silas Willard School, retiring in 2002. She was raised and educated in Missouri, graduating from Brookfield High School in 1965 and Northeast Missouri State University in 1969. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Knox County Retired Teachers Association, and the Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa.
Nancy loved being outside, working in her flower garden, playing bridge, making greeting cards, and being with family and friends. She was the life and light of every gathering.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Lee Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral with private family burial at a later date in Brookfield, Mo. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
