age 71 of Abingdon, died Monday, December 16, 2013 at his home.
He was born on October 18, 1942 in Moline, the son of Joseph and Pauline (Warren) Morris. He married Linda Welty on January 15, 1979 in Abingdon. She preceded him in death on September 21, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lyle Morris.
Billy is survived by one daughter, Kathleen Hammontree of Georgia; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Morris of Galesburg; two nephews, Wayne (Ranell) Morris & Grant (Tori) Morris; and one niece, Patty (David) Gutierrez.
He attended Abingdon Schools. He served in the Air Force from 1960 to 1963. He worked at Butler Manufacturing and later at the Admiral Factory, both in Galesburg. He enjoyed bowling. He also enjoyed his coffee time with his friends at Hardee’s in Abingdon
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Saturday at the chapel.

,74, of Galesburg, Ill. passed away at 3 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2013 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.
He was born October 7, 1939 in Moline, Ill. the son of Frank and Mae Jessie Girt Claeys. He married Donna Stinson on May 25, 1963 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Kevin (Tammy) Claeys and Camiel Claeys Jr., both of Galesburg, Kelly (Christine) Claeys of Burlington, Iowa, Christopher Claeys of Galesburg, and Kimberly Claeys Thurman of Galesburg; two brothers, Frank (Peggy) Claeys Jr. of Bloomington, Ill. and Mike (Shauna) Claeys of Galesburg; his sister, Marie (Jay) Hammond of London Mills, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, Jay, Jamie, Bobbi Jo, Kasi, Camiel III, Emylee, Lacey, Colby, Trey, Ky, Kelby, Kolin, and Ryan; and 14 great grandchildren, Caleb, Taesha, Aivlynn, Jaxson, Lorenso, Alex, Mikey, Jase, Javier, Alyviah, Mason, Kaden, Jaxon and Faith and one on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Maurice and Eddie Claeys; and a sister, Marion Parks.
Camiel worked as a journeyman roofer for over 50 years, working for Moore’s Roofing and later for the former White’s Insulation. He retired from Dowers Roofing in 1999. He enjoyed spending time with his family, NASCAR, Bears football and fishing.

68, of Galesburg died at 6:38 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2013 at her home.
She was born August 22, 1945 in Galesburg the daughter of Virgil L. and E. Iola Swanson Melton. She married Gary L. Jones on November 28, 1964 in Galesburg. He survives.
Also surviving is her son, Todd L. Jones of Galesburg and her granddaughter, Morgann. She is preceded in death by her parents.
She worked as an office manager, receptionist, file clerk and bookkeeper for numerous physicians for over 45 years. She graduated from Galesburg High School. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church. Diane enjoyed boating, camping and spending time with friends.

He was born on January 23, 1956 in Lawrence, Kansas the son of Robert and Delores (Kirk) Shelley.
He is survived by his life partner, Corrina Repass of Galva Ill; his parents, Robert and Delores Shelley of Lawrence, Kan.; brother, Edward (DeDe) Shelley of Topeka, Kan.; niece Jessica Hibbs-Shelley of Lawrence, Kan.; nephews Drew Shelley of Menasha, Wis. and Austin Shelley of Wausaukee Wis.
He attended Lawrence High School and graduated from The University of Kansas School of pharmacy in 1982. He was a pharmacist working for Shopko and Hy-Vee. Rob enjoyed working at independent local pharmacies helping his local community. Rob loved music playing keyboards in many bands over his life. He currently was touring with the band, Glory Days. He created the Tye-Dye Theater in Galesburg, Ill., a music venue hosting live music and recording sessions. He was an avid musician supporting the live local music scene. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family. During his free time he liked to relax on his houseboat in the Lake of the Ozarks.
Glory Days will be dedicating their performance at The Castle Theatre on Friday, December 20, 2013 in Bloomington Ill.

She was born December 27, 1917 in Peoria, Ill. the daughter of Harold E. and Addie Crump Foster. She married Jack W. Lundquist on June 15, 1940 in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1984.
She is survived by a daughter, Sue A. (Chris) Colvin of Galesburg; one brother, Charles R. Foster of Galesburg; six grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Ludquist of Ga. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son; James; her sister, Betty A. Glas; and her grandson, Michael Johnson of Calif. in 2008.
She worked for K Mart for 29 years, retiring in 1984. She graduated from high school in Rockford. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebekah’s.

Mrs. Mildred Leone Ginther, Abingdon Chapel
99 of Abingdon, passed away at 9:07 p.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.
She was born May 31, 1914 in rural Abingdon, at the same home where she resided for 65 years, this being a centennial farm which has been in the Moore family since 1868.
She was the daughter of Edward A. and Edna Anstine Moore. She attended Maple Grove Country School for 8 years and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1932.
Mildred married Enos N. Ginther on November 5, 1938 in Davenport, Iowa and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1970. Surviving are two sons, Richard E. (Gracie) Ginther of Galesburg, and Daryl E. (Sandy) Ginther of Bloomington; one daughter, Diane K. (Robert) Fuller of Peoria and one daughter-in-law, Sharon K. Ginther of Abingdon. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, an infant sister and son Larry E. Ginther.
Mildred was a homemaker having farmed with her husband. She worked at the Blue Bell Factory a few years before she was married.
She had been a member of the Abingdon Christian Church since 1929 and was a member of the Cum-B-One Class at Sunday School, and the Rebekah C.W.F. Church Circle.
She was a member of the Abingdon Garden Club, Jolly Grandmother’s Club, Abingdon Pottery Club, Knox County Farm Bureau, plus she was a volunteer at the Care Center of Abingdon for many years.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Abingdon Christian Church, 409 S. Main St. Rev. Darryl McDaniel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Saturday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.

She was born October 3, 1924 in Galesburg the daughter of Floyd M. and Ruth (Brewer) Tracy. She married William E. Dunn on June 11, 1950 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death January 6, 1977. She later married Charles Boydstun.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane (and Greg) Raymond of Wataga; four grandchildren, Melody, Harmony, and Glen Raymond and Rebecca Lydic, all of Galesburg; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Mark and Vernon Dunn; a sister, Virginia Caleca; and a brother, Douglas Tracy.
Martha graduated from Galesburg High School in 1942 and worked in the Knox County Treasurer’s Office and the Knox County State’s Attorney’s Office for several years. She, her husband, and sons also ran the Dunn and Julien Television Store from 1950 until 2001. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir from high school until the present time. She also served on the Christian Education Committee and Board of Trustees. She was a long time Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. Martha enjoyed singing, crossword puzzles, and card games.

He was born November 18, 1927 in Galesburg, Ill. the son of Maurice E. and Thelma F. Brewer Dickinson. He married Pat Seaman in 1949 in Galesburg and later married Alice Milroy in Galesburg in 1971.
Kenneth is survived by three daughters Debbie Steve, Karen and Robert Simon of California, Paula and Robert Kyle of New York, three step daughters Sue and Alan Indelicato, Becky and Tom Campbell both of Galesburg, Ill., and Ginger and Paul Mathews of DeSoto, Mo. eighteen grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice, son Danny, stepson Terry, and one brother and three sisters.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1946. He was the Director of Building Services at Cottage Hospital and later worked in maintenance at Galesburg High School.

He was born on May 10, 1953 in Macomb, the son of Ralph and Mavis (Oldham) Harmon. He married Tammy (Hogan) Thomas.
Sid is survived by his wife, Tammy; his parents, Ralph and Mavis Harmon of Abingdon; his children, Jill (Gian) Longo of Brookfield, Illinois, Brian (Francisca) Harmon of Bensonville, Illinois, Kiley (Jerrad “Boo”) Quinn of Abingdon, Travis Thomas of Abingdon and Zach (Evie) Thomas of Galesburg; six grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Harmon of Arizona and Paul Harmon of Michigan.
He graduated from Avon High School in 1971 and from Western Illinois University in 1976. He owned Harmon Insurance Agency in Abingdon the past 37 years. He was a loyal supporter and contributor to the many organizations in Abingdon and the surrounding communities. His greatest times were spent with family and friends, who referred to Sid as “Our MacGyver”, and the many customers he has been honored to serve at the insurance office.
As he requested, cremation will be accorded and no service will be held. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, December 26, 2013 at the Abingdon United Methodist Church, 401 N. Washington St.

She was born April 23, 1927 in Chicago, Ill. to Russell L. and Helen M. Almquist Myers. She was raised in Altona by her aunt and uncle, Eva and Roy Larson. She married Carl Rolland Rylander September 30 1945 in Altona, Ill. He preceded her in death December 15, 1986 of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
Surviving is a daughter, Jody K. (and William H.) Brothers of Lafayette, Ind., two grandsons, Carl M “Beau” (and Katie M.) Brothers of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla and Eric E. Brothers of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, a cousin, Don Larson of Wataga, Ill. and two step great grandchildren, Joey and Alan Stair. She was preceded in death by her parents and two cousins.
Marilyn was a secretary for Waterman High School, Waterman, Ill. for 12 years and then for Roecker Cabinet Company in Morton, Ill. for 16 years and retired in 1968. She graduated from Altona High School in 1945. She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed reading and traveling.

age 67 of Abingdon, died at 6:47 am Thursday, December 26, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born on October 9, 1946 in Galesburg, the daughter of James Donald and Dorothy E. (Howard) Dixon. She married Michael Durkin. They later divorced.
Joyce is survived by one son, Jon (and Judy) Durkin of Galesburg; one daughter, Marie (and John) Kness of Oneida; eight grandchildren, Megan, Jacob, Derrick, Kalyn, Bryce, Logan, Kyra & Tori; one great-grandchild, Abbi; and two brothers, James R. Dixon of Massachusetts and Jerry Dixon of Galesburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Tom Durkin.
She had lived in the Abingdon area most of her life. She was a former dispatcher for the Abingdon Police Department. She also sold Tupperware.
She was a former volunteer EMT for the Abingdon Ambulance. She was active in scouting for 55 years. Her hobbies included sewing and she made clothes, coats, doll clothes and costumes for her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel followed by a prayer service led by Mrs. Eleanor Landon. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation with private burial of her ashes in the Abingdon Cemetery at a later date.
