Mr. Joseph “Jay” Harold Gauthier, Galesburg Chapel

68, died in peace January 21, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV due to complications following his bout with cancer.

Jay was born on October 2, 1946 in Chicago, IL the son of Clarence “C.J.” and Grayce Gauthier.

He graduated from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina with a degree in Chemistry in 1968, then went back to Chicago to attend Northwestern Medical School. When his college girlfriend, Christine Zappala, graduated in 1969, they married. After graduation, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico for his internship and residency. Jay, Chris, and their two children, Brian and Lisa, moved to Reno in 1978 when Jay became a partner at Sierra Nevada Laboratories, specializing in forensic pathology. Jay and Chris divorced in 1987.

After leaving his practice, Jay married Laverne “Starr” Miller on March 2, 1990. Over the course of their 24 years, Jay and Starr lived in Hawaii, Reno, Virginia, and finally Las Vegas where Jay passed.

He is survived by his wife, Laverne “Starr” Gauthier, his step-son, Darryl Moore; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Rebecca Gauthier of Champaign, IL; his daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Michael Henderson of Reno, NV; his sister and brother-in-law, Nanci and Ron Van Blaricom of Palos Hills, IL; his niece and god daughter Laura Grayce, and 4 grandchildren Mark, Marshall, Anna, and Adam.

Jay was an intelligent, energetic, and passionate person who cared deeply for his family and friends, and was always willing to help others in need. A lifelong learner and avid sport fan (particularly the Duke Blue Devils), there was nothing he loved more than sitting in his chair while reading or watching a game. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 10 am Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West in Galesburg, Illinois.  Pastor Jennifer Miles will officiate. Cremation was accorded. Blickem, Kylie24, of Wataga, died Tuesday afternoon in rural Knox County.
She was born September 14, 1990 in Galesburg.
She is survived by the love of her life, Logan Johnson of Wataga; Logan’s parents, Edwin and Lisa Johnson; special niece and nephew, Kynley and Tyler Johnson; her parents, Travis and Tammie Billings of Wataga; three sisters, Chloie (and Cody) Unger of Peoria, Kelsey Rogers of Galesburg, and Aaliyah Lynch of Knoxville; her grandmother, Ruth Ann “Grandma Annie” Blickem of Galesburg; her aunt, Lorrie (and Kevin) Lawson of Henderson, Nevada; her cousin, Samantha (and Anthony) Butler and their children, Nathaniel, Josiah, and Noah; her cousin, Shanie Lawson (and Travis Aaron); her dog babies, Code and Duke; and many other extended family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by Little Grandpa Joe.
Kylie graduated from ROWVA High School and from Blackhawk School of Nursing in December 2014 with her RN.  Kylie loved school and while at Blackhawk, she was a tutor and an ambassador.  She received her nursing certificate on Monday, February 9, 2015.
Kylie was an outdoors girl, enjoying four wheeling, mud racing, riding in big trucks, and gardening.  She also enjoyed her dogs and spending time with her family.  Kylie loved taking care of people while living, and in death she continues her caring ways by being an organ and tissue donor.  She will always be loved and missed.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Cremation will be accorded following the visitation.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.

Ryner_Nadene70, of Oneida, Ill. died 7:50 a.m. Sunday, February 15, 2015 at her home. 

She was born January 21, 1945 in Galesburg, Ill. to Harold and Erma Driwer Nelson.  She married Carl “Tom” Ryner October 6, 1962 in Galesburg.  He survives. 

Also surviving, are two daughters, Renee (and Robin) Fay of New Windsor, Ill. and Tina Ott of Williamsfield, Ill., a sister, Lois Pierce of Galesburg, four grandchildren, Sammi Ott, Austin Ott, Nathan Fay and Matthew Fay and a great granddaughter, Rylee Doubet. 

Nadene graduated from Galesburg High School in 1963.  She was a surgical technician at Cottage Hospital for 19 years and later for Dr. Dan Kasper and Dr. Bruce Bobofchak for five years.  She retired January 1, 2010.  She was a member of Little John Conservation Club. 

Cremation will be accorded.  Memorial service will be 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Community of Christ Church, Galesburg.  Bonnie King and Joyce McCanless will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Private family burial of cremated remains in the Oneida Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com

Page, Catherine74, of Galesburg, died at 9 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2015 in Seminary Manor.
She was born June 9, 1940 in Pike County, Missouri the daughter of William Alfred and Ruby Lee (King) Jarboe. She married Bontie Lee Page on June 12, 1964 in Bowling Green, Missouri.
She is survived by two sisters, Betty (and Raymond) Dempsey of Sidney, Ohio and Alice Pritchette of Bowling Green, Missouri and her friend, Joyce Bean of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Catherine worked for Bankheads Candy in Bowling Green. She also worked for Gross Galesburg/Carhartt from 1981-2005, retiring in 2005. She was a member of the Knox County Democratic Women and Knox County Democrats. Catherine had received the “Democrat Woman of the Year” award.
Funeral will be 11 am Monday, February 23, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Tom Smith will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Monday at the chapel. Additional visitation will be 12-1 pm Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Missouri with burial to follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Middletown, Missouri. 85 of Roscoe, Illinois, formerly of Abingdon, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Rock Haven Nursing Home in Janesville, Wisconsin.

She was born on October 8, 1929 in Abingdon, the daughter of Marion and Bertha Anderson Berry, Sr.  She married Jack S. Heimel on October 30, 1954 in Abingdon.  He preceded her in death on August 14, 1987.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother Marion “Scorp” Berry, Jr., and her twin sister, Carol L. Eaton.

Wanda is survived by her son, Jack S. (Sandra) Heimel, Jr. of Janesville, Wisconsin; and nephews and nieces and their families.

She lived most of her life in Abingdon and moved to Roscoe, Illinois in 1976.  She worked in retail sales for many years. She was of the Methodist Faith.

Funeral service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel.  Rev. Jeff Robbins will officiate.  Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery.  Visitation will be from noon to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel.

She was born July 10, 1927 in Plymouth, Illinois the daughter of Ernest F. and Lillian M. (Mackey) Kendall. She married Kenneth Standard on May 7, 1946 in Plymouth. He preceded her in death March 11, 1995.
She is survived by three sons, Rod Standard of Galesburg, Ron (and Chris) Standard of Monmouth, and Bob (and Jeanine) Standard of Bloomington; two daughters, Nikki (and John) Campbell of Galesburg and Penny (and Mickey) Tinder of Springfield; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dodie Robeck; a granddaughter, Kiley Standard; two brothers; and two sisters.
Mary was a PBX Operator for Gunther Construction and Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She retired in 1990. She graduated from Plymouth High School. Mary was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and listening to country music.

71, of Galesburg, died at 6 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Heartland Health Care Center.
He was born July 14, 1943 in Avon, the son of Leonard Harvey and Hazel Marie (Morris) Powers.
He is survived by three children, Marvin “Marty” Dale (and Angie) Powers Jr. of Galesburg, Christina Tenhaaf of Galesburg, and Melissa Maynard of Decatur; two grandchildren, Andria Powers and Christopher Tenhaaf; five brothers, Alvin L. Powers of Bushnell, Everett L. (and Martha) Powers of Knoxville, Leland H. Powers of Galesburg, Eldon Powers of Ellisville, and Gregory K. (and Donna) Powers of Knoxville; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis Powers.
Marty was an assembler at Maytag for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He graduated from Valley High School. He enjoyed going to yard sales, fixing radios, and gardening. He was a Chicago Bears fan.
Marty served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1967 and in the Reserves until 1969. He boxed while in the Air Force and was captain of the boxing team.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Military Honors. 85, of Galesburg, died at 5:34 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 in Seminary Manor.

She was born August 13, 1929 in Streator, Illinois the daughter of George L. and Anne (Pavlick) Masley.  She married Marion J. Ramza on September 3, 1949 in Streator.  He preceded her in death July 10, 1970.  She later married Alfred E. “Doc” Underwood on August 12, 1980 in Cambridge, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Doc; three sons, Richard (Kate) Ramza of Moline, Illinois, Dr. Brian ( Susan) Ramza of Mission Woods, Kansas, and Dr. Justin Ramza of Rockford, Illinois; a step-son, Michael Underwood of Trilby, Florida; a step-daughter, Debra (Norman) Marshburn of Dade City, Florida; six grandchildren, Michelle Gansen, Nicole Ramza, Jessica Tetter, Emily Ramza, John Ramza, and Nicholas Ramza; three great grandchildren, Hayden, Dylan, and Sydney Gansen; and two sisters, Louise (Edward) Coughlin of Falcon, Missouri and Mary Ann (Kenneth) Burk of Glen Ellyn, Illinois.  In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law, George T. and Marcella Masley.

Dee was first and foremost a homemaker and later worked as a receptionist for Streator National Bank and as an administrative assistant for the Streator Public Elementary Schools.  She was raised and educated in Streator, graduating from Streator High School in 1947.  She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Galesburg.  Dee enjoyed sewing, dancing,  and above all fishing.

Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Msgr. briggs, inez 99, of 1939 Jackson Rd. Ann Arbor, Mich., Formerly of Galesburg, Ill., moved on to eternal life at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Hillside Terrace Assisted Living.
Born January 28, 1916 on a farm near Altona, Ill. to Simeon and Mattie Abernethy McGaan. She married Cloyd Keith Briggs on Feb.21, 1947 in Galesburg. He died December 1, 1987.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Wayne, two brothers and two sisters. Surviving is a daughter, Sara Carriere (and John) of Ann Arbor; three grandchildren; Anthony Carriere (and Karen) of Huntsville AL; Rachel Carriere of Salem MA; and Adam Carriere of Ann Arbor, MI.
Inez graduated from Knox College in 1937 where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She worked at Gale Products during the war years and then taught in the Galesburg Public Schools until retirement in 1981. After retirement she worked at Cottage Hospital in the purchasing department for several years. In 1996 she moved to Ann Arbor.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an avid Bridge and Pinochle player. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Galesburg, participating in her church circle and always available to help with errands or driving people to appointments. {The American Red Cross was always calling her to give blood.}
Graveside service will be 11:15 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Rev. M.J. Fitch will officiate. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Ellison, Howard58, of Gilson, died at 6:56 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2015 in the emergency room of OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.
He was born August 28, 1956 in Galesburg, the son of Gerald D. and Betty J. (Marsh) Ellison. He married Paula Harrison in 1975 in Avon. He later married Rebecca Smock-Morrison in 1984 in Abingdon.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 31 years, Becky; a daughter, Jennifer (and John) Rineberg of Danville, Illinois; a son, Jayson Morrison of Spring Valley, Illinois; two grandsons, Dennis and Dylan Rineberg; a brother, Rodger (and Linda) Ellison of Monmouth, Illinois; and a sister, Jane Ellison in the state of Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Moon graduated from Galesburg High School in 1974. He was a small engine mechanic, working at Sear’s for 38 years until retiring in 2010. He had worked at Birkey’s Farm Store since 2013. Moon was an outdoorsman, enjoying riding motorcycles and tractors, gardening, and mushrooming. Most recently he enjoyed driving his grandsons around the homestead on his golfcart. He was a member of the Spoon River Flyers Remote Control Airplane Club. He was of Christian faith.
Cremation will be accorded. No visitation or service is planned at this time, but a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. He is survived by his four children, James Clark, Matthew Clark, Joshua Clark, and Hanna Clark and his mother, Darlene M. Clark. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Stephen S. Clark and C. William Clark.
Jesse worked as a chef. He enjoyed ice sculpting.

Ronald is survived by his mother, Marilyn of Galesburg, his sister, Becky Joan (Stan) Mason of Galebsurg, his niece, Emily Jane (Chris) Henry of Galesburg and his great niece, Delaney Emelia Henry. He is preceded in death by his father.
Ronald graduated from Lillian Taylor High School in 1964. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Ronald enjoyed reading and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. Ronald had a lifelong struggle with hemophilia but managed to enjoy life. He was always known for his sweet smile and his manners.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Friday, March 6, 2015 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Tom Larsen and Deacon Michael Crummer will officiate. She was born November 28, 1952 in Avon the daughter of Gerald H. and Betty (Etherton) Poynor. She married David H. German on December 30, 1972 in Galesburg.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, David; two daughters, Candi (and Eric) Pool of Avon and Heidi (and fiancé, Jeremy Pulliam) German of Galesburg; four grandchildren, Cody Jones, Caity Jones, Brianna Pool, and Madison Pool; and a brother, Bucky Poynor of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and step mother, Bobbie Poynor.
Jodie worked for the Admiral Corporation and was a lunchroom supervisor for Galesburg School District. Most recently, she worked as a home health care provider, which she truly enjoyed. She graduated from Knoxville High School. Jodie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church. She was born June 19, 1930 in Fulton County, Illinois the daughter of Ernest and Minnie Bowman Moore. She married Robert L. Irons on November 21, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2012.
She is survived by a son, Robert Joe (Vilma) Irons of Yorkville, Illinois; two daughters, Kendall (Tom) Webber of Galesburg and Leslie (Charlie) Cross of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; two brothers, Tom (Phyllis) Moore of Bloomington, Illinois and Dick (Jean Ann) Moore of Lawrence, Kansas; eleven grandchildren, Denise Simkins, Alicia (Thom) Sigel, Angela (Nik Jsd) Condon, Ryan (Megan) Webber, Bo (RaShawn) Irons, Jessica, Caroline and Taylor Irons, Garrett, Jackson and Olivia Cross and nine great grandchildren, Trey, Hayley and Colton Sigel, Dakota Condon, Jake and Kaylee Miller, Olivia and Avery Webber and Finley Irons. She is preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Kathy Ann Condon and Karman Sue Irons, two brothers, Leroy and Robert Moore and two sisters, Barbara McDaniel and Betty King.
Margo worked as a Migrant Program administrator for the public school system in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking and puzzles. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and following their activities and sporting events.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Visitation will be 10-11 am Saturday at the chapel. It is with sadness that the family of M. Maxine Rendleman Fritz announces her passing early in the morning of March 1, 2015. Maxine was born on Bald Knob, near Alto Pass, Union County, Illinois on July 14, 1921 the daughter of Henry and Zora Logan Rendleman. She married Edward Fritz on August 22, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1996.
She leaves behind two children, Randy Fritz (wife Janet Collopy) of Williamsfield and Christine Fritz Youngquist (husband Steve) of Cameron; and four grandchildren: Andrew Fritz of Williamsfield, Zack (wife Jaclyn) Youngquist of Monmouth, Hannah Youngquist (fiancé Ben Dingman) of Davenport, Iowa and Carissa Youngquist of Cameron. She is also survived by three sisters: Ollie Walker of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Betty Singer of Mount Prospect formerly of Peoria, and Jean Rudolph of Peoria. Two sisters and a brother passed away before her.
She was a resident of Cameron. She lived most of her life in Galesburg. Maxine moved to the Galesburg area as a nanny before World War II and became a hairdresser until her marriage. After her children were grown, she worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad until her retirement in 1981.
She moved to her Cameron home with her daughter and family in 1999. She lived there for the remainder of her life.
Maxine’s passions included playing bridge, where she remained active in several groups. She also enjoyed duplicate bridge, water color painting, sewing and quilting, and reading. Her greatest love was her family, all of whom miss her greatly.
Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel followed immediately by a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donors’ choice, the Central Warren Fire Protection District-First Responders (CWFPD), the Williamsfield Public Library, or the Galesburg Public Library. He was born September 22, 1935 in Pleasant Twp., Fulton County, Illinois the son of Guy T. and Mary (Chockley) Clark. He married Cheryl S. Myler in 1980 in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; four daughters, Etta Martin of Galesburg, Helen (and Bill) Keener of LaPorte, Minnesota, Jamie (and Jim Bob) Bromley of South Haven, Mississippi, and Nora Luallen of Keithsburg, Illinois; two sons, Garry Fox and Sean (and Belinda) Fox, both of Galesburg; 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Penny Clark; two great grandsons; a brother and a sister.
Charles was a delivery driver for Rogers Brothers for 43 years. After retirement, he delivered the Register-Mail. He attended Ipava Twp. schools. Charles enjoyed bowling and NASCAR and he loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1961. Charles received the National Defense Service Medal, the U.N. Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Korean Service Medal.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. with military honors. Rev. Gary Bryan officiating. pennington barbara65, of Roseville formerly of Galesburg, Illinois died at 4:17 am Sunday, March 1, 2015 in the Roseville Rehab and Health Care Center.
She was born March 31, 1949 in Galesburg the daughter of Paul W. and Violet M. Scott Nelson. She first married Phillip E. Grabill in April of 1967 in Galesburg. She then married Tommy L. Cooley on January 4, 1979, he preceded her in death in November of 1981. She later married Glen D. Pennington in June of 1993. He preceded her in death in November of 2006.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kim (Marshall) Randolph of Monmouth, Illinois and Julie (Greg) Windsor of Galesburg; her brother, Bruce Nelson of Gilson, Illinois; two nieces and two nephews; her granddaughter, Courtney Grabill and two step grandsons, Jeremy and Travis Randolph. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husbands.
Barbara worked as a waitress for the Family Table for many years. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1967. She enjoyed her yard, animals, the outdoors, watching humming birds and her cats.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11 am Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Daniel Siems will officiate. There will be no visitation. She was born January 29, 1923 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Leonard and Gertrude Schanning Weir. She married Andrew J. Lundeen on November 10, 1945 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2014.
She is survivied by her son, Jeffrey (Becky) Lundeen of Galesburg; two daughters, Nancy (Wally) Stephenson of Lebanon, Pennsylvania and Julie (Charles) Nelson of Galebsurg; her sister, Margaret (Carl) Sandberg of Galesburg and six grandchildren, Anders Nelson, Joel Nelson, Jennifer and Bill Reigle, Jon and Marlene Stephenson, Lindsay and Chad Long and Cassie Lundeen and Calla Massman and seven great grandchildren, Matthew Reigle, Mitchell Reigle, Tori Stephenson, Taylor Stephenson, Tyler Stephenson, Cohen Long and Carsyn Long. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Barbara worked as a sales person for Burglands Youth Fashion for 20 years, retiring in 1988. Barbara was a homemaker and built her life around her family. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1941. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, March 12, 2015 at First Lutheran Church. Rev. Pamela Marolla will officiate. Visitation will be from 9-10 am at the church.
