78, of Galesburg died at 11:27 am Monday, June 23, 2014 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born April 28, 1936 in Macomb, Ill. the daughter of Richard and LuEdna Frye Bailey. She married Cecil Schisler on December 29, 1951 in Palmyra, Mo. She later married Richard (Dick) Bruning on January 3, 1963 in Clarksville, Tenn.
She is survived by two sons, Monte Schisler and Cole Bruning both of Galesburg; her daughter, Cyndi Schisler Johnson of Galesburg; her brother, Dick (Joann) Bailey of Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren, Mikki Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Erin Schisler Reed, Cheyenne and Taylor Bruning and several nephews.
Lou Ann worked at Maytag Corporation, Canfields and later at Seminary Manor as a caregiver. She attended Macomb schools. She loved being outdoors working in her yard and loved her dog.
Cremation will be accorded. Private family services will be held in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.h-p-w.com.
