97, of Galesburg died at 7 pm Monday, June 23, 2014 in Seminary Manor Nursing Home.
She was born April 22, 1917 in Rutledge, Mo. the daughter of John and Inez Burkhart Anciaux. She married Charles B. Paisley on November 8, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2010.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Downin of Galesburg, eight grandchildren, Nichloas and Jeremy Downin, Chris Paisley, Lynn Smolen, Laura Paisley, Erynn, Adam and Ian Paisley and 16 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sons, Peter K. on November 17, 2008 and John E. on August 24, 2009, her sister, Letha Cooper and two brothers, Audrey and Rusty Ancianx.
Elsie worked as a nurse for the University of Iowa. She went through nursing training in Keokuk, Iowa. She was a member of the PEO Chapter W and Soangetaha Country Club. She was a member of the Central Congregational Church. Elsie was an avid bridge player.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10 am Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be made Central Congregational Church. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
