91, formerly of Galesburg, died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha, Iowa.
She was born August 17, 1922 in Henderson, Ill. the daughter of Archie and Laura Haines Maxwell. She married Ira Willis Bulson on October 28, 1939 in Muscatine, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2004.
She is survived by a son-in-law, Patrick (and Marilyn) Welch of Lewistown, Ill.; two granddaughters, Angela (and David) Carlile of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Elizabeth “Liz” (and Sean) Seibert of Tempe, Ariz.; two great grandsons, Ryan and Ben Carlile; several nieces and nephews; and friends and staff at Hiawatha Care Center. In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; a daughter, Cynthia Welch on December 3, 2004; two brothers and one sister.
Mary worked as a secretary for electrical contractor Herschel Maxwell for over 30 years. She was raised in Henderson and Wataga and attended Wataga High School. She was a member of the Wataga Congregational Church.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. David Kramer will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel.
