84, of Galesburg passed away early Sunday morning Sept. 1, 2013.
She was born Nov. 3, 1928 in London Mills, to John Finney and Irene Cozad Finney. She married Kendall D. Johnson on Feb.10, 1973 in Galesburg. She is now with her husband, Kendall, of 40 years.
She will lovingly be missed by her oldest daughter’s family, Linda L. Hill of Aurora, Ill.; grandson, Justin M. Hill (Meghan) and great granddaughter, Ellie, all of Aurora and granddaughter, Sarah L. Lahtinen (Justin) and great grandson Ethan, all of Cary, Ill. Her second daughter’s family, Sandra K. Gonzales (David) of Yorkville, Ill.; granddaughter, Jennifer K. Ramirez (Chris) and great granddaughter, Lucie, all of New York. Her son’s family, Michael E. Stump (Norie) of Florida; grandson, Jeremy D. Flaherty of Galesburg; granddaughter, Michele Stump of New York; and grandson, Michael E. Stump (Andrea) and great granddaughter, Alana, all of Aurora. She has two step sons, David Johnson (Linda) and Alan Johnson (Elaine), three step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren, all of Arizona. She has six siblings, Jerry, Roberta, Phillip, Barbara, Russell and James. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jason E. Hill and her first husband, Russell E. Stump.
She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1946.
She worked at Midwest and then had a house cleaning business until she retired in 2010. She loved working in her beautiful yard and sitting on the gazebo with Kendall at 579 W. Fremont St. in Galesburg. Her other enjoyments were playing piano every day. She also enjoyed doing needlework, of which she made numerous beautiful pictures for her family and friends. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, Justin and Sarah.
Cremation will be accorded. Graveside memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tom Ek will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Toys for Tots or F.I.S.H. Food Pantry. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services of Galesburg is assisting the family.
