56, of Galesburg, Ill., died at 12:50 am Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born February 2, 1957 in Galesburg the son of John E. and Barbara J. McGee Pierce. He married Janet D. Larkins on February 14, 1981 in Galesburg. She survives.
He is also survived by his two sons, Jeffery S. Pierce, Jr. and John L. Pierce both of Galesburg; four brothers, Don (Janice) Lobb of Winchester, Ill., Larry Pierce, John (Pat) Pierce and Mark (Lois) Pierce all of Galesburg; his Goddaughter, Amanda Anderson, his God Grandson, Brendon Anderson, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 9 ½ years. Jeffery graduated from Galesburg High School in 1975 and had attended Carl Sandburg College. He enjoyed cooking. He was a fan of Nascar, the Chicago Bears and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Visitation will be held 5-7 pm Friday, September 6, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Graveside services will be held at a later date.
