86, of 1110 McClure St., Galesburg, Ill. died at 5:00AM Friday, June 29, 2012 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born on December 6, 1925 in Percy, Ill. to Charles M. and Irene V. Rory Woodside. He married Ruth H. Welsh in Galesburg on February 15, 1947. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Judy Ann (and Sherman) Kelley and Mary Louise (and Rodger) Kelley both of Galesburg; one brother, Orville Woodside of Lancaster, Calif.; one sister, Bernice Slaven of Sparta, Ill.; five grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemary Coulson, three sisters and four brothers.
Raymond was a machine operator at Rowe Manufacturing for 32 years, retiring in 1984. He then worked for the Galesburg Mental Health Center for four years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285.
He served in the US Marine Corp during World War II.
Funeral services will be 2:00PM Monday, July 2, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Captain Rick Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30PM to 2:00PM Monday at the Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be presented by the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post #285. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
