He was born September 15, 1948 in Kewanee, Ill. the son of Raymond and Amy Haffner Conlin.
He is survived by one son Zachery Conlin of Colorado, two sisters Rosemary Clark of Sandwich, Ill., and Eileen Engels of Galva, Ill., he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers Michael and Henry Conlin, and one sister Kay Marsh.
He graduated from Galva High School in 1966
Cremation will be conducted with no services planned. Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice.

Dobson, George77, of Galesburg, died at 3:38 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at home.
He was born April 3, 1936 in Monmouth, the son of Arthur W. “Bill” and Pauline E. (Murrell) Dobson. He married Sylvia M. Sargeant on August 7, 1957 in East Galesburg. She preceded him in death October 4, 2010.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan Dobson of East Galesburg and two grandchildren, Miranda Perry and Jordan Perry. His parents and a sister also preceded him in death.
George worked for the former Admiral/Magic Chef/Maytag Corporation for 30 years and also for Gunther Construction Company for 16 years. He retired in 1994. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. George enjoyed racing and fishing.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to George’s caregiver, Joy and her daughter, Jackie; his niece, Debbie; and hospice nurse and special caregiver, Patty.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at East Linwood Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Tom Larsen will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Harbor Light Hospice. He was born September 16, 1940 in Chicago, the son of Steve and Genevieve “Jenny” (Nagel) Seper. He married Catherine A. Riley on July 31, 1971 in Park Forest, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; a daughter, Mary Seper of Galesburg; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Jeffrey Seper on June 1, 2011 and Charles Seper on May 13, 2012.
Stephen was a group manager for CNA Insurance Company for several years before retiring. He graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Chicago in 1958 and Loyola University in 1962. Stephen was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He participated in S.P.E.C. (Special People Encounter Christ).
Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William Miller will officiate. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Beane, Lois80, formerly of Galesburg, died at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Knox County Nursing Home.
She was born September 11, 1933 in Macomb, the daughter of Nicholas and Dorothy Maxine (Sappington) Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Marsha Kaletsch and Dawn (and Kim) Behringer, both of Oneida; two grandchildren, Mindy (and Jim) Pugh and Nicholas Behringer; a great grandson, Cole Pugh; and a sister-in-law, Patty Smith of Greenbrier, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Smith; and a son-in-law, Joe Kaletsch.
Lois was a mental health technician for the former Galesburg Research Hospital for over 30 years. She was raised and educated in Galesburg, attending Galesburg High School. Lois lived most of her life in Galesburg, except for 10 years in Davenport, Iowa, returning to Galesburg in 2003.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. There will be no visitation. Mack, BuellObit_US_Flagage 88 of Galesburg and formerly of Berwick, died at 3:33 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Seminary Manor in Galesburg. He was born on February 14, 1925 in Maynard, Ark, the son of Aaron and Ollie Fowler Mack.  He married Veda Mae Bennett on February 11, 1950 in Pocahontas, Ark. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2011.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, one brother and two sisters. Buell is also survived by a son, Rick (and Linda) Mack of Galesburg, Ill.; two daughters, Sandy (and George) Campbell of Roseville, Ill. and Marsha (and Davis) Biddle of Aledo, Ill.; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He moved to Abingdon, Ill. from Arkansas in 1950.  After a few years in Abingdon, he and Veda moved to Berwick, Ill. and lived there for 50 years. In 2005 they moved to Galesburg. He served in the Army during WWII. He worked at Briggs Manufacturing in Abingdon for 38 years and retiring in 1988. He and Veda also owned and operated B & V Grocery and Mack’s Upholstery, both in Berwick.He was a member of the Berwick Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon and on many of the church committees.  He was a former volunteer fireman for the Abingdon Fire Protection District Berwick Station for 42 years. He served on the Berwick Township Board for 45 years. He was a member of the Happy Hollow Beagle Club. He enjoyed playing his guitar, the mandolin, and at the age of 80 he learned to play the banjo. His hobbies included wood working and ceramics.Funeral service will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Berwick Baptist Church. Pastor Thomas Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in the Berwick Cemetery with military rites conducted by Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381.  Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to Berwick Baptist Church.

He was born on February 18, 1968 to Earl A. and Dorothy G. Mims Wilson.

He is survived by his parents, Earl and Dorothy Wilson of Galesburg, Ill.; a half-brother, Christopher Wilson and his wife of California; a sister, Lisa Wilson of Galesburg; a half-sister, Cathalyn Wilson Moore of Mississippi and his nephew and best buddy, Kobe Dickerson of Galesburg.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Velma Mims and Robert and Anna Mae Wilson and a half-brother, Mike “Fredd” Wilson.

Darin was a taskmaster at United Facilities in Galesburg.  He also had worked at Verizon Wireless in Peoria, Ill., Ameren and both Hy-Vee Food Stores in Galesburg.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church.  He was a 1986 graduate of Galesburg High School where he played in its band during the years he attended.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. John H. Mims and Rev. Madura, John93, of East Galesburg, Ill. died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday January 28, 2014 at his home.
He was born December 7, 1920 in Hammond, Ind. the son of Andrew and Elizabeth Martin Madura. He married Julia Martinez Rodriguez on September 17, 1983 in Gilson, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving is his son, Dennis (Linda) Madura of Boise, Idaho; his daughters, Sandra (Wayne) Cleek of Hammond, Ind. and Sharon (Mike) Mueller of Orange Valley, Calif.; his step sons, Lupe (Sheryl) Rodriguez, Steven (Debbie) Rodriguez, and Victor (Gloria) Rodriguez, all of Galesburg; his step daughters, Lourdes (Larry) Fones of Knoxville and Ophelia (John) Sharp, Anita (Jerry) Clarke, and Ventura (David) Stinson, all of Galesburg; 27 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Violet Ryan of Union Mills, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
John had owned a service station in Calif. for 17 years. After moving to Galesburg, he was a welder at Butler Manufacturing Company and also farmed from 1970 to 2006. He enjoyed working outside and building and remodeling homes.

She was born September 25, 1953 in Kansas City, Mo. the daughter of William F. and Doris (Goodwin) Moore.
She is survived by her father, William (and Nancy) Moore of Camdenton, Mo.; three sons, Preston (and Michelle) Morehead of Oneida, Ill., Shawn (and Emily) Morehead of Springfield, Ill., and Scott (and Samantha) Morehead of Fort Gordon, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, Kayla Churchill, Ashe Morehead, Gage Morehead, Shawn Jakob Morehead, Gavin Morehead, Hailie Morehead, Serenity Morehead, Madison Morehead, Emmalin Morehead, and Mackenzie Morehead; two sisters, Deborah McCormick and Terri Olsen, both of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and special friend and fishing buddy, Larry Smith of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her mother; a brother, David Moore; and a grandson, Caleb Morehead.
Kathy worked for Pizza Hut, co-owned and operated K-M Sports from 1986 to 2001, and worked at Clark and Shell Gas Stations. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1971. Kathy was an avid fisherman, was a member of Little John Conservation Club, and bowled for many years on a Thursday night league at Northgate.

She was born April 20, 1922 in Forrest, Ill. the daughter of Marcus G. and Agnes (Hunter) Wilson. She married Dale Walker on September 26, 1948 in Abingdon, Ill. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2001.
She is survived by a son, Lindon D. (and Gayla) Walker of Austin, Texas and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
Ethel was a homemaker and took care of children in her home. She was a member of First Christian Church. Ethel was also a member of the Visually Handicapped Club.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda M. Thompson of Chicago and a sister, Emma Jean (and Robert) Carner of Kirkwood, Ill.
John worked for Nabisco Inc. in the Galesburg territory for 13 years, retiring in 1976. He graduated from Monmouth High School in 1953 and attended Western Illinois University and the University of Illinois. John was a member of the former Emmanuel United Methodist Church. He was also a lifetime member of Jaycee’s, a former member of AMBUCS, and a member of Delta Sigma Phi.
John served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959.

She was born on June 1, 1920 in Maynard, Arkansas, the daughter of Robert and Anna (Mack) Fowler. She married William ‘Bill” D. Foster on October 4, 1941 in Doniphan, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary Anne (Jerry) Link of RR Abingdon and Kathy (Jim) Palmer of Bushnell; four grandchildren, Kim (Kevin) Wills of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jeff (Lori) Link of RR Abingdon, Stacey (Keith) Millizer of Avon and Brian (Sandy) Palmer of Omaha, Nebraska; and six great-grandchildren, Cassie (Tyler) Schleich, Cory Link, Aidan Wills, Andy Wills, Maddax Palmer and Brayden Palmer.
She had lived in the Abingdon area most of her life. She worked at the Brass Factory in Abingdon, the Alton Box Company in Galesburg and she retired from the Maytag Company in Galesburg. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381 Auxiliary. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting and baking. She also did alterations for Mary Anne’s Style Shop in Abingdon. She worked hard all of her life and she was never afraid to try anything she set in her mind to do.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday at the chapel.

He was born on July 20, 1938 in Avon, the son of Theodore “Ted” “Tobe” and Jennie P. (Hoadley) Thurman. He married Connie McGrew. They later divorced. He then married Diane L. Weathers on May 18, 1974 in Abingdon.
John R. is survived by his wife, Diane; his children, Diana (Tim Peacock) Thurman of RR Abingdon, Suzanne Magee of Alexis and Michael J. (Trish Butler) Thurman of RR Abingdon; three granddaughters, Catherine (Dakota Pullen) Magee, Jennifer (Jake) Medhurst and Sarah Magee; one step-son, Michael (Georgia) Stubbs of Moline; two step-grandchildren, Ty Stubbs and Chase Stubbs; one brother, Max (Anna) Thurman of Galesburg; one sister, Karon (Bill) Dawson of Knoxville; nieces and nephews and their families; and his loving cats, Ivan and Abby.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Mike Magee.
 He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1956. He worked at the Alton Box Factory in Galesburg for 44 years, retiring as a supervisor. He also farmed and raised livestock. He was a member of the Abingdon-Avon FFA Foundation; the Illinois Cattleman’s Association, the Abingdon Community Festival Association and was a founding member of the former Abingdon Motorcycle Club. His hobbies included playing cards, playing fast pitch softball, and spending time with family and friends and especially giving them all a hard time.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday at the chapel.

She was born on December 21, 1919 in Hooper, Neb. to Emil and Fredericke Meüller Rink. She married Roy R. Drasites on September 26, 1943 in the Quad Cities, Ill.
Loretta is survived by her husband, Roy of Little Swan Lake; two sons, Michael (and Cindi) Drasites of Little Swan Lake, Avon and Gary (and Julia) Drasites of Dahinda, Ill.; a daughter, Sharon Drasites deValenzuela of Bogota, Colombia; five grandchildren, Jose Maria, Mateo Andres, Arian, Tony and Jaretta; nine great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bailey, Ian, Lia, Martina, Luciana, Lorenza, Tristan and, soon to be, baby girl Drasites.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar, Roland and Herbert Rink; a sister, Cornelia; infant sisters, Bernitha and Elsie; one granddaughter, Maria Dolores; a son-in-law, Ulpiano deValenzuela and a daughter-in-law, Jaylene Drasites.
After high school she moved to Davenport, Iowa and worked at the Lend a Hand Club. During that time she also graduated from secretarial college. During World War II, Loretta served as a secretary at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, N.M. She and Roy were the owners of the Edgewood Lodge in Mikana, Wisc. They were also the founders and partners in D&D Automotive which later evolved into Galesburg Import Motors (Volkswagen) and later, Galesburg Toyota.
She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Burlington, Iowa. She enjoyed membership in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Galesburg for many years. She was a longtime member of the Galesburg Pilot Club.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Christopher Roepke officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the Concordia Lutheran Church, Burlington. He was born February 25, 1947 in Los Angeles, Calif. the son of Lewis and Lena Ringgold Chaplin II. He married Lelia Grace Loveless in 1965 in Tenn. She survives.
Also surviving is his daughter, Anna (Jeremy Davis) Qualls of Knoxville, Ill.; two sons, Lewis Chaplin IV of Sumter, SC and Aaron Michael Chaplin of Flagstaff, Ariz.; his sister, Ella (Jimmy) Clem of Frankfort, Ky.; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter and a brother.
Lewis worked in the maintenance department for the former American Motors, now Chrysler Daimeler, retiring in 1986. He served as a union representative and volunteered with the United Way.

age 90 of Abingdon, died at 2:00 am Monday, February 3, 2014 at the home of her son Mark, surrounded by her loving sons and their wives.
She was born on September 11, 1923 at the home of her parent’s, Lloyd and Ruth (Alexander) Cutler, in Avon. She married Ralph Howerter in 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri. They later divorced. She then married Clarke Sherman on May 21, 1971 in Abingdon. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a stillborn infant son, Lloyd Edward Howerter.
Audrey is survived by two sons, Marcus Edgar (and Cindy) Howerter of RR Monmouth and James Joseph (and Mary Anne) Howerter of Abingdon; four grandchildren, Lucas (and Jeongmi) Howerter of S. Korea, Josh (and Eunijin) Howerter of Dubuque, Iowa, Sarah (and Josiah) Martinson of Galesburg and Hannah Howerter of Galesburg; and seven great-grandchildren (and another on the way); one step-son, Rodney C. (and Martha) Sherman of Florida; one step-grandson, Todd (and Dennise) Sherman; a step-granddaughter, Kelly (and Tim) Storck; and twin step-great-granddaughters.
She graduated from Abingdon High School in 1941 and later from Brown’s Business College in Galesburg. She worked at Briggs Manufacturing in Abingdon for 46 years, retiring as the Certified Purchasing Manager in 1988.
Audrey was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Abingdon where she was involved in the many activities at the church. She was a member of the AHS Half-Century Alumni and the Abingdon Pottery Collectors Club. Her hobbies included flower arranging, gardening, dancing and taking photos. She wrote for the Abingdon Argus and also taught Dale Carnegie Classes. She was also active in the Rotary Ann’s and she helped organize and attended the reunions for the 35th Division of the Army. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be accorded. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. M. Annette Faull, Mrs. Eleanor Landon and her son, Mark Howerter will officiate. Burial of Audrey’s ashes will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Thursday at the chapel.

Mr. Forrest E. Weedman, Galesburg Chapel

Obit_US_Flag83, of Galesburg, died on Friday, January 24, 2014 in Rosewood Care Center.
He was born November 10, 1930 in Victoria, the son of William W. and Verna I. (White) Weedman. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and three sisters.
He was married to Judy Hendricks. Later her married Alice Shoal who has passed away. He lived most of his life with is sister, Violet (and Rudy) Isaacson.
Forrest was raised and educated in the Victoria area. He worked for Keith King and Willard Johnston Farms for many years before retiring. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 and was stationed in Alaska.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Forrest enjoyed fishing, hunting, and smoking his pipes. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
