86, of Galesburg died at 11:02 pm Saturday, October 11, 2014 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born February 17, 1928 in Oneida, Illinois the daughter of Glenn and Retah Vorhees Wilmot. She married Russell O. Bivens on August 6, 1960 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1992.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Rose Ann (Bernard) Bankes of East Peoria, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Rose Bertiaux of Marathon, Florida; three sisters, Lucille Yeast, Isabelle Wenzel both of Galesburg and Edith Sells of Union, Misssouri and one grandchild, Nicky and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Jacques G. Bertiaux, two brothers and five sisters.
She worked for Admiral/Maytag Corporation for 10 years, retiring in 1977. She graduated from Galesburg High School. Rachel was a member of the former Moose Lodge #880. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Wednesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galebsurg Chapel. Rev. Glen Bocox will officiate. Visitation will be from 9-10 am Wednesday at the chapel.
