73, of Galesburg, died at 3:19 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born September 16, 1940 in Chicago, the son of Steve and Genevieve “Jenny” (Nagel) Seper. He married Catherine A. Riley on July 31, 1971 in Park Forest, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; a daughter, Mary Seper of Galesburg; and several nieces, nephews, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Jeffrey Seper on June 1, 2011 and Charles Seper on May 13, 2012.
Stephen was a group manager for CNA Insurance Company for several years before retiring. He graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Chicago in 1958 and Loyola University in 1962. Stephen was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He participated in S.P.E.C. (Special People Encounter Christ).
Funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William Miller will officiate. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
