83, of Galesburg died at 3:34 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 in Seminary Manor.
She was born October 14, 1930 in Buffalo, N.Y. the daughter of Leo J. and Mary E. Cleary Mott. She married Herbert E. Hogue in Galesburg on February 14, 1980. He preceded her in death on August 11, 2011.
Surviving are eight sons, Herbert (and Kathy) Hogue of Buffalo, N.Y., Joseph Hogue of Galesburg, Lucian (and Sharon) Hogue of Fla., Victor Hogue of Galesburg, Rene (and Vanessa) Hogue of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Lyle (and Kim) Hogue of Va., Michael (and Carol) Eagan of Buffalo, N.Y., and Patrick (and Nancy) Eagan of Buffalo, N.Y.; four daughters, Darlene Strand of Calif., Linda Hogue of Dubuque, Iowa, Lisa (and William) McConnell of Crystal Lake, Ill. and Yvette Hogue of Galesburg; numerous grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda Eagan; a son, Martin Hogue; one brother; and four sisters.
Betty was born and raised in New York, moving to Galesburg in 1969. She graduated from high school in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1945. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Heartland Health Care Center for 10 years, retiring in 1995. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #285.
Funeral services are scheduled for noon Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Jon Sibley will officiate. There will be no visitation.
