age 83 of Abingdon, died at 8:04 am Friday, January 3, 2014 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born on March 28, 1930 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, the son of Amandus Wellington and Cora (McGuire) Moser. He married Marlene Baxter. He later married Betty Thompson on April 1, 1961.
David is survived by his loving wife Betty; five sons, David (Reba) Moser of Prairieville, Louisiana, Brad (Diane) Moser of Placerville, California, Tom (Jeri) Moser of Placerville, California, Rick (Traci) Hughes of Galesburg and John Moser of Abingdon; three daughters, Judy (Richard) Schultz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lisa (Rich) Mathews of Lansing, Kansas and Pamela (Josh) Johnson of rural Monmouth; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
David worked as a welder at Bixby Zimmer in Galesburg and retired from there as the General Shop Foreman. His hobbies included woodworking, playing golf and playing his guitar. He was a die-hard Cubs fan and he enjoyed spending time on his computer.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday at the chapel.
