70, of Galesburg, Ill., died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013 at home.
She was born May 10, 1943 in Kansas City, Mo. the daughter of Edgar W. and Eva M. (Wyatt) Arber Sr. She married Bob Sholl on November 21, 1964 in Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death October 27, 2012.
She is survived by a son, Chris (and Marcia) Sholl of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Jennifer (and Buddy) Rayburn of Edwardsville, Ill.; four grandsons, Brendan Rayburn, Blake Rayburn, Steven Christensen II, and Sean Christensen; a brother, Edgar W. Arber Jr. of California; two brothers-in-law, Ivan (and Linda) Sholl of Bartonville, Ill. and Ronnie (and Tina) Garrard of Washington, Ill.; and two sisters-in-law, Janet (and Tom) Yeatts of Carbon Cliff, Ill. and Pat Roth of Peoria, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Penny was raised and educated in Kansas City, Mo., graduating from Raytown High School in 1961. She attended University of Central Missouri. While living in Galesburg from 1976 to 1992, she worked at Farm King. After moving back to Kansas City, she worked for the Hall Corporation in the advertising department for 18 years, retiring in 2010. Penny and Bob moved back to Galesburg in 2012.
Penny was of the Methodist faith. In her younger years, she had been active with Job’s Daughters. She loved her grandsons.
Cremation will be accorded. No visitation or service is planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of the donor’s choice.
