65, of Brimfield, Ill. died at 1:28 a.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013 at home.
He was born September 22, 1947 in Galesburg, the son of Leif A. and Ruth (Nelson) Ericsson. He married Linda D. King June 14, 1969 in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; a son, Michael Paul (and Serenedy) Ericsson of Seattle, Wash., three daughters, Kristina Marie (and Deken) Glenzinski of Princeville, Ill., Elizabeth Ann (and Bruce) Burton of Brimfield, Ill., and Rebecca Lynn (and Jeremy) Vogel of Mackinaw, Ill.; and six grandchildren, Morgan, Isaac, Gavin, Evan, Mila, and Miles. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roger was an electrical engineer at Caterpillar for more than 35 years, retiring in February 2012. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1965 and from Purdue University in 1969. Roger was a member of Grace and Peace Lutheran Church in Peoria, Heart of Illinois Via de Cristo, Professional Engineers Association, and I.E.E.E.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Grace and Peace Lutheran Church, 7611 N. Knoxville, Peoria. Rev. O. Wayne Shelksohn will officiate. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace and Peace Lutheran Church or H.O.I. Via de Cristo. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
