88, of Galesburg, Ill. died 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.
She was born September 30, 1924 in Galesburg, Ill. the daughter of Alvin and Anna Nelson Levene. She married Albert George Fones Jr. on January 1944 Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death on October 3, 1978.
She is survived by three sons, Alan (Candice) Fones of Monmouth, Ill., Brian (Susan) Fones of Colona, Ill., and Albert Fones of Westmont, Ill.; two daughters Jill (Ross) Sandercock of Naperville, Ill. and Joy (Jonathan) Kobialka of Middletown, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Nicole Ommen, Karyn Gillespie, Stephanie Fones, Diana Kobialka, Michael Sandercock, Mark Kobialka, Al Fones and Dennis Fones and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Dennis Fones, two brothers, Harold and Donald Levene and a sister Marion Stomberg.
She was a homemaker. She volunteered with In Touch. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a pet lover.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday, April 6, 2013 in East Linwood Cemetery. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Family for her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s education. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
