95, formerly of Oquawka, died at 3:50 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 where she was residing in Scottsdale, Ariz.
She was born March 21, 1917 in Galesburg the daughter of Joseph W. and Lillian Moneymaker Palmer. She married Clarence McVey on May 17, 1936 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death April 25, 1989.
She is survived by a son, Edward (and Beverly) McVey of Oquawka; a daughter, Judy Wexell of Scottsdale; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
Dorothy worked at Gale Products and Butler Manufacturing for a time when she was younger. She was a homemaker. She lived in Galesburg and Oquawka and later in Scottsdale. Dorothy was of the Methodist faith. She loved the outdoors.
Graveside service will be 11:30 am Monday, January 21, 2013 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. There will be no visitation.
