77, of Galesburg, died at 1:40 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born February 20, 1935 in Ellison Twp., Warren County, Ill. the son of Raymond C. and Pauline M. Dutton Cooper. He married Eula Maxine Rohr October 29, 1955 in Cameron, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Eula; six children, Kathy (and Kenneth) Lockwood of Galesburg, William Richard Cooper Jr. of Peoria, Ill., Marvin John (and Laura) Cooper of Monmouth, Ill., David L. Cooper of Galesburg, Jeffrey M. Cooper of Galesburg, and Julie A. Cooper of Galesburg; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie (and Carroll) Hefflin of Monmouth. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Cooper.
William worked for Butler Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for 35 years, retiring in 2005.
He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery in Monmouth. Pastor Dan Simmons will officiate. There will be no visitation.
