Mrs. Anna Margaret Galbreath, Galesburg Chapel

galbreath-anna-margaret.jpg94, of Galesburg, died at 6:58 p.m. Monday, January 7, 2013 at home.
Marge was born July 16, 1918 in rural Knox County, Ill. the daughter of Peter W. and Emma Larson Lundeen. She married Edwin L. Galbreath on July 18, 1938 in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2009 after 70 years of marriage.
She is survived by a son, Richard (and Gail) Galbreath of Oneida, Ill.; four daughters, Janet (and Gene) Nelson, Jeanne (and Ray) Harris, and Judy (and Don) Remer, all of Galesburg and Vera Combs of London Mills, Ill.; a son-in-law, Delano Carson of Okla.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son; a daughter, Joyce Carson; a grandson, Eddie Carson; a son-in-law, Dean Combs; her parents and all of her siblings and their spouses as she was the youngest of a blended family of 16 children.
She attended Warren County schools and Monmouth High School. She worked many jobs besides raising her family on the farm. She owned and operated Northside Launderette from 1969 to 1980. She and Ed moved off the farm to Galesburg in 1989 and to the Kensington in 2008. She was an avid reader and wrote lots of poetry. She enjoyed visiting the Riverboats and was a great pitch player, and enjoyed bowling, later switched to Wii bowling. She enjoyed her large family and had a good day with several of them on Sunday before passing away peacefully on Monday in her own bed with family at her side. We will all miss her dearly.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Kurt Carlsen will officiate. Visitation will be noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church in Henderson Grove or the Kensington Activity Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
