63, of Rio, Ill. died 10:45 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. He was born July 4, 1949 in Galesburg to Clyde E. and Erma Swank Miller. He married Donna Lucas December 21, 1968 in Galesburg. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Paul E. (and Tammy) Miller of Orion, Ill. and Bobby J. (and Mindy) Miller of Rio, Ill, two daughters, Paula M. Miller (and Bussy Crouch) of Joliet, Ill. and Chasity A. Miller of Rio, a brother, Richard D. (and Eva L.) Miller of Galesburg and eight grandchildren, Haley Miller, Jake Miller, Hannah Miller, Lindsey Speck, Marissa Miller, Carson Miller, Max Miller and Cooper Miller.
Steve graduated from Galesburg High School in 1968. He worked in maintenance for Rock Tenn in Galesburg for over 40 years. He was a member of P.A.C.E. Union. He was a member of NHRA and IHRA Drag Racing. He loved car shows and was a proud owner of a ‘57 Chevy. He was the president of the Bad Ass Bowties Car Club. He enjoyed carpentry work including re-modeling homes. He was also a Chicago Bears fan. Most of all, Steve loved his family. He loved going out to dinner on Saturday nights.
Cremation will be accorded. Celebration of Steve’s life will be 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
