age 67 of Abingdon, died at 1:25 pm Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born May 1, 1945 in Stamford, England, the son of Forrest Theodore and Mary Florence (Macdonald) Freburg. He married Carolyn J. Carnes on February 26, 1965 at the Abingdon United Methodist Church.
John is survived by his wife, Carolyn; two sons, Timothy John (and Marcella) Freburg of Fenton, Missouri and Andrew James (and Jennie) Freburg of Gurnee, Illinois; one daughter, Angela Jo Muncy of Nolensville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Megan, Heidi, Maxwell, Abigail and Aedan; two great-grandchildren, Daylon and JJ; one brother, Jay Richard Freburg of Cambridge, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Nathaniel.
He graduated from Abingdon High School and later from Carl Sandburg College. He was a Cad Cam Engineer at a local factory for 26 years, retiring in December of 2008. His hobbies included building and flying RC Planes, photography and fishing. John cared deeply about his family and grandchildren.
A private service for John was held on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Burial followed in the Abingdon Cemetery.
