82, of Galesburg, Ill. died 12:37 am Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in Cottage Hospital.
She was born April 11, 1930 in Hardinsburg, Ky., the daughter of Elvin and Beulah Dowell Norton. She married Rutherford B. Roberts on February 25, 1946 in Hardinsburg. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1984.
She is survived by three daughters, Loretta (and Bernard) Stomberg of Galesburg, Betty (and Terry) Hicks of Galesburg and Brenda (and Gary) Lindsey of East Galesburg; two sons, Randall B. (and Patty) Roberts and Rick (and Anna) Roberts, both of Galesburg; a brother, Isaac B. Norton of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Nancy was raised in Nortons Valley near Hardinsburg, Ky. and moved to the Galesburg area around 1949 where she resided on the farm for 52 years. She worked in domestics at Knox College for 15 years, but spent most of her time as a homemaker. She loved quilting and gardening, but mostly loved being a mother and Mamaw to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Pastor Dan Simmons will officiate. Visitation will be 12:30-2:00 pm Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in Warren County Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Nortons Valley Cemetery near Hardinsburg, Ky.
