57 of Springfield, Illinois and formerly of Abingdon, passed away at 12:36 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at the St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
She was born April 4, 1959 in Galesburg, the daughter of Evan and Wilma Hood Plasters.
Gayle is survived by her mother, Wilma Plasters and her friend, Blackie Woolsey of East Galesburg; her children, Chastity and Shane; 4 grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne Plasters of Bartonville and Mark and Jessica Plasters of Abingdon; and aunts, uncles, cousins and their families.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She grew up in Abingdon and attended Abingdon schools. She later earned her GED. Gale worked in the hospitality industry in Florida for many years. She enjoyed NASCAR and had attended several of the races.
Cremation will be accorded. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Abingdon Cemetery. Bob Malone will officiate. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
