29 of Galesburg and formerly of Abingdon, passed away at 6:29 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the OSF St. Mary Medical Center Emergency Room in Galesburg.
He was born September 26, 1986 in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of George E. and Roberta “Bobby” Ruhl Lynch.
Jake is survived by his father, George Lynch of Park City, Illinois; one daughter, Isabella Rae Lynch and her mother Michelle Gordon of Galesburg, Illinois; two brothers, George (Caitlin) Lynch of Oak Lawn, Illinois and Jeremy Spurgeon of DeKalb, Illinois; one sister, Jazzmin Spurgeon and her sons, Juvon and Jordan of Galesburg, Illinois; and his paternal grandmother, Evelyn Klienback of Lake Villa, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his mother and paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents.
He graduated from Abingdon High School in 2005 and later attended Carl Sandburg College. He currently was employed at Cleary Buildings in Galesburg and he had also worked at Koppers and Midwest Waste Haulers.
Jake enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar and playing computer games.
Cremation will be accorded. To celebrate his life, the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post #381, 546 State Route 41, Abingdon, Illinois. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
